To evaluate the effectiveness of the Instant Carpal Tunnel Relief Pack in the treatment of numbness due to carpal tunnel syndrome.

ABSTRACT:

The study of contributing elements and developmental factors in the treatment of this musculoskeletal disorder and the viable ergonomics in both occupational and non-occupational settings.

CLINICAL:

In a three month random study, 500 diagnosed carpal tunnel syndrome patients participated in testing the effectiveness of the Instant Carpal Tunnel Relief Pack. The study encompassed a wide array of carpal tunnel syndrome disorder severities, ranging from mild characteristics of carpal tunnel syndrome to acute. Each patient was experiencing some degree of numbness of the hand at the introduction of the relief pack.

The Instant Carpal Tunnel Relief Pack is a constructed neoprene garment into which a reusable cold  gel pack is inserted. Utilization of both components initiates a reduction of inflammation in the fore-wrist carpal tunnel region causing a decrease in swelling of the tissues surrounding the median nerve thus releasing the median nerve allowing  it to return to normal functionality.

The Instant Carpal Tunnel Relief Pack has demonstrated to be effective in relieving numbness, to varying degrees, of the hand and fingers in 89% of the patients tested. The average time a patient began to feel relief (reduction in numbness) was 2 minutes. Patients suffering from acutely advanced conditions receiving no relief, were advised to consult with their physician.
