What is CTS?
(A brief explanation)
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD)
MSDs are injuries and disorders of the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, joints and supporting structures of the body such as cartilage or spinal discs. Common examples are tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and various types of sprains and strains.
What Causes The Pain and Numbness?
The nerves running to your thumb and fingers past through the carpal tunnel at the base of the wrist. Each nerve is wrapped in tissue for protection. These tissues swell with fluid putting pressure on the nerves, thus cutting off the flow of energy to the patients thumb and fingers causing the numbness and eventually pain.
A Solution
The WareCo Relief Pack is designed to provide a comfortable cold compress to the affected nerve area for an extended period of time allowing the patient to quickly resume their normal activities with little or no interruption. The soft but durable garment does not restrict the patients’ hand or wrist movements. Thus, the patient is free to continue working (or return to sleep).
